Ukraine is ready to discuss the neutral status of the country. To do this, Kiev needs security guarantees not only from Russia, but also from Western countries. This was told by the deputy head of the office of the President of Ukraine Igor Zhovkva, RIA Novosti reports.

According to Ukrainian media reports, on the morning of March 9, Ukraine actually showed its readiness to negotiate on the country's neutrality in another statement by President Vladimir Zelensky. "In fact, the ruling party agreed to declare such a status (since they don't take it to NATO) and accompanied it with a condition for security guarantees," Ukrainian journalists concluded.

For the first time, Zelensky's office talked about the possibility of negotiations on the neutral status of Ukraine on February 25, a day after the start of the Russian special operation to protect the population of Donbass. "We heard from Moscow today what they want to say. If they want to talk about a neutral status, we have no fear of such a discussion," Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, confirmed the intentions.
